Orly airport is located at a distance of almost 20km from central Paris, at the locality of Orly. Historic Significance
The airport was originally known as ‘Villeneuve-Orly Airport’ and it was available to southern suburbs of Paris in 1932, as a secondary airport (first being Le Bourget).
In World War II, the Orly airport was occupied by German Luftwaffe, which used the airport as a combat airport, stationing many of its important vehicles. RAF and USAAF saw an opportunity and repeatedly attacked the airport, destroying a lot of its infrastructure.
Terminals
Two terminals rule the Orly airport i.e. South terminal and West terminal. Both of these terminals are home to various duty-free shops, restaurants, and lucid attractions.
South Terminal
It has 6 floors and the departure gates are located on Upper-level I. Jet bridges are equipped with 15 of terminal’s departure gates. The South terminal is cool in a sense that there are a number of PlayStation 3 in the boarding halls of ‘A’ and ‘D’. You can play all you want, and that too for free.
For very small children, the airport offers ‘play areas’ in the boarding lounges of D, E, and G.
West Terminal
It has two floors and the departure area is located on level I. The central departure area is connected to halls I – 4 and 23 stands are accompanied with jet bridges.
The West terminal is also famous for its game room which houses a pinball, a pool, and some video games. Inside the hall 2 of a west terminal, there is a beauty salon, where one can get a soothing massage, manicure, and pedicure at affordable rates.

Orly bus shuttle stops at ‘H’ entrance of southern terminal and ‘D’ entrance of the western terminal. The journey is about 25 minutes.
